What difficulties did the customer meet?

The common small packaging of welded gas cylinders is a 1-liter cylinder. However, sometimes, it is still too big.

The customer wanted to develop a smaller packaging, using the style of an aerosol can.

The customer ordered a 100ml high-pressure two-piece aerosol can from US, with a pressure resistance (bursting pressure) of over 4.2 Mpa.

However, the customer searched the entire global market but failed to find an appropriate valve that could support the pressure of 4.2 MPa.

 

Our solution

1.Customize high pressure-resistant valves

– double layer tinplate to make the mounting cup, 0.36+0.21mm

Usually, the aerosol valve has one layer – 0.36mm

– match with US thread: 1/2′-16 acme

For this type of valve, we have customized several special-sized components: inner gasket, POM housing, 0.21mm tinplate. According to a third-party test, the maximum resistance pressure of this customized valve could reach 4.7Mpa, which fully meets the customer’s requirements.

 

In the above solution, what technical support did we offer?

  1. The Euro-standard double-layer valve (EN417, 7/16’-28)was subjected to a pressure resistance test, and the test value was 4.72 Mpa, which fully met the requirements.
  2. Use standard thread ring gauges to manufacture standard threads 1/2’ – 16 acme for the customized valve.
  3. Three types of sealing rubber materials were provided: Buna, Neoprene and N206. These were handed over to the customer for compatibility tests with propylenegas, and finally, it was decided to use Bunarubber as the sealing material for the valve.
  4. Package and fillingtests for the customized valves together with the customized cans provided by the customer, and complete the entire testing procedure: leak test, high-temperature test and drop test.
  5. Provide 2,000pcscustomized valves for testing and commissioning of the customer’s customized filling line. Arrange for technical personnel to be present at the filling site to provide technical support.

 

2.Customize plastic cap with flame mark

The common plastic caps cannot meet the customized requirements of the customer. Therefore, we were asked to develop new injection molds and produced special plastic caps with the customers’ flame mark, to show the customers’ brand strength.

In the above solution for the plastic cap, what technical support did we provide?

  1. We discussed and confirmed the style of the plastic cover with the customer.
  2. We provided a complete set of design drawings, designed and manufactured the injection mold.
  3. We made samples, manually tested their compatibility with the valve, and sent them to the customer for confirmation.
  4. We produced 2,000pcssamples to be sent along with the valves, and conducted packaging tests on them on the filling line. We also provided technical support for the automated assembly.

Project status

The customer’s new product – small bottle propylene welding can was launched in July 2026. The first batch of 300,000 units was launched to the US market, and the second batch is currently in production.
